Long Island lies on the southeastern side of New York state, with a total of seven bridges and two tunnels connecting New York City to Long Island. If you are flying into NY it is likely you will land on Long Island, because both the New York LaGuardia Airport and the John F. Kennedy International Airport are located here. Long Island NY stretches for almost 120 miles form one end to the other, and has a total area of over 2,250 square miles!
Long Island NY is home to the New York Aquarium and Resorts World Casino New York City. For something more relaxing, you can spend a quiet day at the beach in the Hamptons, cycle around the wine vineyards and fruit orchards of Mattitiuck, or even check out the Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium.
